About The Position

Green Dot is seeking dedicated High School Biology Teachers for the 2026-27 academic year. Our teachers are crucial in providing high-quality instruction aligned with Common Core State Standards and state college system expectations. We utilize principles of intellectual preparation and universal design for learning to ensure accessible education for all students. Collaboration, including vertical articulation, is key to our strategy, ensuring a coherent learning experience across grade levels. While adhering to Common Core, teachers have flexibility to create innovative and engaging lesson plans tailored to diverse learning needs. New hires with a start date on or after September 15th will be classified as at-will, probationary employees, with potential to transition to regular employee status at the end of the school year. Requirements

Have a bachelor’s degree (required)
Have a growth mindset and love of learning
Have strong content knowledge, pedagogical understanding, and the capacity to plan and deliver instruction to meet the needs of students

Will need to pass a TB test and background check at time of offer
Possess (or will possess by July 2026) a valid California Preliminary or Clear Single Subject credential in Biology, OR Eligible for a California Single Subject Intern credential in Biology (candidate must earn an Intern credential by July 2026), OR Eligible for a Short-Term Staff Permit (STSP) or Provisional Internship Permit (PIP), AND have a valid CPR certification that meets the standards established by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
