This position helps tutor and assist with instruction for all high school subjects. The role involves working individually and with small groups of students who have behavior needs beyond typical classroom discipline. The assistant will support college and career readiness, provide direct instructional intervention and behavior services, and support teacher interventions within the Positive Behavior Support Program. Responsibilities also include student data entry, aiding counselors with registration, organizing files, answering phones, guiding students through career exploration assessments, maintaining data banks, scheduling students, and preparing materials for teachers. The role also involves instructing students on computer programs, reinforcing behavioral interventions, teaching social/academic skills, monitoring and recording data for behavior, academic, and IEP plans, supervising children, mediating student conflicts, administering minor first aid, enforcing school rules, and escorting students. Additionally, the assistant will help bilingual/monolingual children, tutor students with English deficiencies, assist the Bilingual Teacher in planning and implementing lessons, and aid in language assessment and portfolio preparation. The position also includes developing, coordinating, and hosting Career and College Exploration events for students.
