The position of Athletic Trainer is to practice the prevention, care and rehabilitation of injuries incurred through athletic participation with the use of physical modalities. Additionally, the position will be responsible for teaching first aid and CPR procedures to coaching staff. This role involves administering a program for emergency care, treatment, and rehabilitation of injured high school athletes in compliance with National Athletic Trainers' Association guidelines. It also includes counseling athletes and parents on medical assistance, working under the direction of physicians, advising coaches on athlete return-to-play status, and maintaining injury records. The athletic trainer may also provide classroom coverage during campus emergencies.
