About The Position

This position serves as the High School Assistant Principal Secretary at Kenowa Hills High School. The role involves managing multiple tasks, communicating effectively with parents, students, and staff, and generating and managing secondary class schedules. The secretary will also handle various administrative duties requiring excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and confidentiality. The position requires strong computer skills, particularly with Power School and Microsoft programs, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. This is an in-person role requiring regular, on-site attendance.

  • Ability to generate and manage a secondary class schedule.

  • Sound knowledge of spelling, grammar and punctuation via written or orally.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team on group projects when necessary.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Excellent work attendance record.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in the use of Power School and Microsoft programs.
  • Regular, on-site attendance at the assigned work location.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the school day across classrooms and intervention spaces.
  • Ability to sit, bend, kneel, or work at student level during small group or individual instruction.
  • Ability to use hands and arms to operate instructional materials, technology, and assessment tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families.
  • Ability to support students with a range of academic needs, including students who may require redirection or support with engagement.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move instructional materials and equipment (up to 25 pounds).

Nice To Haves

  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Successful secretarial experience.
