About The Position

Springfield Public Schools seeks outstanding candidates for the position of Part-Time (0.67) High School (Grade 9-12) Advanced Math teacher at Thurston High School. Requirements

  • A valid state of Oregon teaching license, or the ability to get one, with an Advanced Math endorsement
  • Successfully pass fingerprinting, criminal, Oregon Department of Education, and TSPC background checks

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge and experience with high school-aged students
  • Strong understanding of multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) for academics and social/emotional/behavior
  • Knowledge and experience working in a school or district that implements the concepts of Response to Intervention (RtI)
  • Knowledge of school-wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and responsiveness to, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds that characterize a K-12 school community in a manner specific to the position
  • Strong student relationship building skills and the ability to establish a sound system of classroom routines and management
  • Establishes effective, collaborative working relationships with diverse staff, student and community populations
  • Ability to effectively manage and supervise students and their work
