About The Position

Highland Baking Company is seeking an experienced high-reach forklift operator for their Frozen Shipping Department. This role is crucial for safely and efficiently moving, storing, and preparing frozen products for shipment. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with high-reach forklifts in cold storage or warehouse settings, emphasizing precision, organization, and safety. Successful team members are dependable, detail-oriented, safety-focused, and capable of working effectively in a physically demanding environment while maintaining productivity and accuracy.

Requirements

Minimum of 1 year of experience operating a high-reach forklift (not a cherry picker), preferably in a cold-storage or frozen environment.
Ability to work in cold temperatures for extended periods.
Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Flexibility to work varying shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Strong understanding of forklift safety practices and warehouse procedures.

Responsibilities

Safely operate high-reach forklifts to move frozen products throughout the shipping department.
Retrieve, transport, and stack pallets in elevated storage locations using extended-reach equipment.
Accurately pick and stage orders according to shipping instructions and customer requirements.
Follow all workplace safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Conduct routine forklift inspections and report any equipment issues promptly.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas, including freezer and shipping zones.
Collaborate with warehouse team members to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
Comply with all company policies, procedures, and food safety standards.
