Requirements

  • Completion of a Steamfitter or Pipefitter Apprenticeship Program (union preferred)
  • Active membership in, or ability to join, the local Steamfitters Union
  • Strong understanding of high-pressure steam systems and blueprint reading
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with industrial/commercial boiler systems
  • Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in confined or elevated spaces
  • Comfortable working in high-temperature environments
  • Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, maintain, and repair high-pressure steam boilers and associated equipment, continuously monitoring system performance to uphold safety and efficiency standards.
  • Using technical drawings and diagnostic tools, identify and resolve mechanical and system issues, performing both preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on boilers, pumps, valves, piping, and steam systems.
  • Ensure full compliance with CSD1 regulations, state boiler codes, and union safety standards, while maintaining accurate maintenance logs and documentation.
  • Working collaboratively with engineers and plant personnel, help optimize system performance and respond effectively to emergency calls and system shutdowns as needed.
