Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • 1+ years of experience in a die casting environment.
  • Standing role with walking, bending, and stooping; heavier material handling may occur during setup.
  • Lifting/pushing/pulling/carrying: 5 lbs. constantly, 35 lbs. frequently, 75 lbs. occasionally.
  • Potential hazards include serious cuts, burns, bruises, and possible permanent injury; goggles and heavy gloves required.
  • Regular exposure to heat, dirt, grease, fumes, and noise above 85 dB (hearing protection required when exposure exceeds 85 dB).
  • Comfort taking verbal direction from a supervisor.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret simple drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and run die casting machines to meet quality, safety, and output targets.
  • Visually inspect parts and verify the condition of dies throughout production.
  • Remove/replace die casting dies, adjust machine parameters, and prepare equipment for production runs.
  • Obtain Supervisor or Group Leader sign-off on setup before running.
  • Assist maintenance with repairs as instructed to sustain uptime.
  • Configure and operate auxiliary equipment: ladle, auto-spray, robotic systems, and trim press.
  • Follow gauging and part-checking procedures on the prescribed timeline.
  • Work from verbal instructions and Process Sheets.
