About The Position

AT&T Global Public Sector is seeking a High-Performance Computing (HPC) Systems Administrator to support a large client-based IT enterprise. This role involves the installation, configuration, and networking of Linux and Windows-based platforms. The position requires a minimum of 5 days per week in the office at the specified government customer site in Columbia, Maryland. The scope of this contract demands specialized expertise in high-performance computing, automated processing systems, distributed software design, and secure hosting and networking solutions. The IT infrastructure is primarily Linux-based, with some Windows and UNIX systems, including various network devices, server interconnections, mass storage solutions, and supporting infrastructure services. The services provided support HPC, infrastructure maintenance for HPC systems, networking, office automation, and specialized software development.

Requirements

  • B.S. in a technical discipline and 10 years’ experience as a System Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity or 15 years’ experience in lieu of a degree.
  • DoD 8570 IAT II level certification required.
  • TS/SCI with polygraph clearance required.

  • Proficient with Linux-based HPC clusters (e.g., Red Hat/CentOS/Rocky/Ubuntu) with parallel file systems (e.g., Lustre/GPFS) and high-speed interconnects (InfiniBand/Slingshot).
  • Experience with transition of new systems/capabilities into operations (clusters, SMP/MPP, parallel file systems).
  • Familiarity with support to HPC and ABS (ABUNDANTSHIELD) SRE teams in accordance with Government policies and procedures.
  • Proficient with operating and maintaining systems/services: monitoring, incident response, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance.
  • Proficient with installing/configuring Linux OS, file systems, and TCP/IP networking; troubleshooting OS and application issues.

  • Experience applying in-depth troubleshooting skills across heterogeneous systems.
  • Experience providing detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
  • Experience supporting the dispatch system and hardware problems and remaining involved in the resolution process.
  • Experience hardening, patching, and tuning Linux/UNIX/Windows systems; implementing OS-level enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Experience supporting the design of systems, mission architecture and associated hardware.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of system administration interdependencies as part of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Experience analyzing and resolving complex problems associated with server hardware, applications and software integration.

Responsibilities

  • Provide HPC sustainment support across two geographically dispersed sites.
  • Manage Linux-based HPC clusters (e.g., Red Hat/CentOS/Rocky/Ubuntu) with parallel file systems (e.g., Lustre/GPFS) and high-speed interconnects (InfiniBand/Slingshot).
  • Handle the transition of new systems/capabilities into operations (clusters, SMP/MPP, parallel file systems).
