About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Process Engineer or Specialist to support and enhance Process Safety Management processes and systems across our power generation fleet. This role is responsible for lifecycle management of storage and handling systems covering hydrogen, ammonia and other substances across the fleet to ensure compliance with applicable codes/standards and insurance requirements. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in process safety engineering and hands-on experience with systems operation and maintenance. This position plays a critical role in reducing operational risk, improving system reliability, and supporting safe, continuous plant operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent with minimum 10 years of experience in power generation, or similar asset-intensive environments.
  • Experience supporting engineering, maintenance, operations, compliance, or technical program administration preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with operations and maintenance of hazardous chemicals handling systems and PSM administrative tools
  • Strong working knowledge of CGA, OSHA, ANSI, EPA and NFPA requirements as they relate to Hydrogen, Ammonia and Natural Gas.

  • EPA 40 CFR Part 68 – Accidental Release Prevention Requirements: Risk Management Programs Under Clean Air Act Section 112(r)(7)
  • Familiarity with Hazard Mitigation or Process Safety Analysis
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage contractors and multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Administer generation services standards ensure alignment with applicable codes and standards
  • Ensure all standards incorporate event learnings, insurer loss control recommendations and industry best practices/technical bulletins
  • Coordinate development and revision of standards by facilitating technical input from SMEs.
  • Evaluate existing plant systems for adequacy, reliability, and compliance.
  • Support inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) programs in alignment with requirements
  • Identify gaps and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Participating in incident investigations and root cause analyses related to PSM system failures or impairments.
  • Drive standardization and continuous improvement initiatives across the fleet.
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and EHS teams to integrate PSM requirements into plant activities.
  • Provide technical training and guidance to site personnel as needed.
