About The Position
The hide pattern trimmer is responsible for trimming unusable areas of the hide to a specific pattern. This involves using a knife to remove the faceplate, knee area, tail, and udder/cod of the hide. The role requires attention to detail and the ability to follow specific trimming instructions to maintain a square cheek area, open shanks and trim the knee, open the tail and trim it square, and trim teats and fat stringers. This description is not intended to be all-inclusive, and employees may perform other related duties as needed.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must be able to work in a humid, hot, wet, slippery, or moving surface at varied heights in and around moving equipment and parts with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Be attentive to detail.
- Ability to work safely, wear PPE, and follow instructions.
- Ability to attend work consistently.
- Always be aware of your surroundings.
- Follow all safety, food safety, and animal welfare or sanitary dress procedures.
- Able to stand for lengthy periods of time.
- Display strong work ethic.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience/knowledge of manufacturing environment.
- Previous heavy machinery experience in manufacturing environment.
- Previous agriculture production/ beef plant experience.
