About The Position
The HID Coding Trainer serves as a trusted resource for clinicians by providing education, consultation, auditing, and feedback on medical documentation and coding practices. The role supports compliance, accurate reimbursement, and adherence to regulatory guidelines. The position is remote and is available to candidates in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Minnesota, Nevada, Oregon, and Texas.
Requirements
- Associate's degree or college diploma.
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification.
- A minimum of 5 years of coding experience in a hospital or facility setting.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field.
- A minimum of 2 years in a training role.
- Experience working directly with physicians on medical documentation and coding practices.
Responsibilities
- Conduct medical record audits to ensure alignment with coding requirements, organizational policies, and industry standards.
- Deliver individualized and specialty-specific education through one-on-one support, provider tip sheets, virtual presentations, and other training resources.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in surgical coding, diagnosis coding, and documentation requirements.
- Analyze data, communicate findings, and drive documentation and coding improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain educational materials and training programs.
- Collaborate with clinical practice managers and coding leadership to support provider performance and compliance.
