About The Position

This course begins with the unification of Germany under Bismarck and then proceeds to examine Wilhelmine Germany and the defeat in World War I, the Weimar Republic, the Nazi regime and the defeat in World War II. It then examines the post-war experience of the Federal Republic and the Democratic Republic and ends with an analysis of the reunification of Germany.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in History.
  • Ability to teach the subject matter of German History, 1870-1990.
  • CV.

  • Verification of highest degree (for external applicants).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver lectures for the course HI211: German History, 1870-1990.
  • Conduct lectures on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 11:20 am.
  • Manage a class size of approximately 75 students.
  • Adhere to the Contract Teaching Faculty and Part-time Librarians Collective Agreement.
