About The Position

This role is for a 2nd Shift Hi Lo Operator. The operator will be responsible for performing all essential job functions as described for a Production Associate, in addition to specific duties related to operating a powered industrial lift truck. This includes safely moving materials, unloading and stacking, supplying workers, loading/unloading trucks, interpreting labels, weighing materials, refueling propane, training new employees, maintaining records, performing maintenance checks, and reporting any safety or mechanical issues. The operator will also be responsible for filling out daily maintenance check-off lists and weekly scrap audits, and contributing to continuous improvement in the shipping and receiving area.

  • Ability to perform all essential job functions as a Production Associate.
  • Operate powered industrial lift truck in a safe manner.
  • Ability to move materials safely to avoid injury or damage.
  • Ability to interpret labels for proper material disposition.
  • Ability to weigh materials and record information.
  • Authorized to refuel propane gas.
  • Ability to train new or less experienced employees.
  • Ability to maintain proper records of work performed.
  • Authorized to perform maintenance checks on Hi-Lo.
  • Authorized to initiate action to prevent nonconformities.
  • Ability to report safety or mechanical problems to a supervisor.
  • Ability to fill out daily Hi-Lo maintenance check off list and weekly scrap audit.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement in shipping and receiving.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all essential job functions as described for a Production Associate.
  • Operate powered industrial lift truck in a safe manner at all times.
  • Move materials in amounts to avoid personal injury, or damage to equipment, material product, or the facility.
  • Move material to designated areas.
  • Unload and stack material.
  • Supply workers with material as required.
  • Load and unload shipping trucks.
  • Interpret labels to ensure proper disposition of materials.
  • Weigh material or products and record on tags or labels.
  • Refuel propane gas as needed.
  • Train new or less experienced employees on the job.
  • Maintain proper records of the work performed.
  • Perform maintenance checks to make sure the Hi-Lo is in proper working condition.
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to product, processes, and quality systems.
  • Report any safety or mechanical problems with the Hi-Lo to a supervisor.
  • Fill out daily Hi-Lo maintenance check off list and a weekly scrap audit.
  • Perform other essential job functions as assigned.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement in the shipping and receiving area as well as material processes.
