About The Position

Peninsula Plastics is seeking dedicated and driven individuals to fill Hi-Lo Operator positions. This role is crucial for supporting our production team across various functions, including shipping and receiving, moving materials to and from machinery, and general material handling. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, safety-conscious, dependable, and capable of working independently when needed. This position requires the ability to travel between our Pontiac and Auburn Hills facilities.

Requirements

  • Previous Hi-Lo operating experience and accredited certification required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35–40 pounds.
  • Ability to work long shifts in a loud industrial environment, including exposure to extreme heat.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to multitask effectively.
  • Must be willing and able to work occasional overtime as required.
  • Candidates must provide at least one professional reference who can be contacted as part of the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily inspections before beginning operations and regularly check Hi-Lo equipment for faults or damage.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Safely operate and maneuver a Hi-Lo in a busy manufacturing facility while completing assigned tasks.
  • Handle shipping and receiving operations as assigned.
  • Perform material handling duties as assigned.
  • Assist with inventory management as assigned.
  • Unload deliveries and safely relocate goods to their designated areas.
  • Safely stack and unstack large quantities of goods onto shelves or pallets.
  • Work with the Plant Supervisor to ensure all production needs are met.
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
