About The Position

This role involves operating a powered industrial lift truck (Hi-Lo) safely and efficiently. The operator will be responsible for moving materials, supplying production areas, loading and unloading trucks, and maintaining records. The position also includes training new employees, performing maintenance checks on the Hi-Lo, and contributing to continuous improvement in the shipping and receiving areas.

Ability to operate a powered industrial lift truck in a safe manner.
Ability to move materials safely to avoid injury or damage.
Ability to interpret labels for proper material disposition.
Ability to weigh materials and record information.
Ability to refuel propane gas.
Ability to train new employees.
Ability to maintain proper work records.
Ability to perform maintenance checks on the Hi-Lo.
Ability to initiate action to prevent nonconformities.
Ability to report safety or mechanical problems.
Ability to fill out daily maintenance check off lists and weekly scrap audits.
Ability to perform continuous improvement in shipping and receiving areas and material processes.

Responsibilities

Perform all essential job functions as described for a Production Associate.
Operate powered industrial lift truck in a safe manner at all times.
Move materials in amounts to avoid personal injury, or damage to equipment, material product, or the facility.
Move material to designated areas.
Unload and stack material.
Supply workers with material as required.
Load and unload shipping trucks.
Interpret labels to ensure proper disposition of materials.
Weigh material or products and record on tags or labels.
Refuel propane gas as needed.
Train new or less experienced employees on the job.
Maintain proper records of the work performed.
Perform maintenance checks to make sure the Hi-Lo is in proper working condition.
Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to product, processes, and quality systems.
Report any safety or mechanical problems with the Hi-Lo to a supervisor.
Fill out daily Hi-Lo maintenance check off list and a weekly scrap audit.
Perform other essential job functions as assigned.
Responsible for continuous improvement in the shipping and receiving area as well as material processes.
