About The Position

This is a 1st shift opportunity for a Hi Lo Operator (Forklift). The role involves safely operating powered industrial lift trucks to move materials, ensuring no personal injury or damage to equipment, materials, product, or the facility. Responsibilities include moving materials to designated areas, unloading and stacking materials, supplying workers with necessary materials in a timely manner, and loading/unloading steel and shipping trucks. The operator will interpret labels for proper material disposition, weigh materials, and refuel the power supply as needed. Additional duties include assisting in die set-ups, training new employees, maintaining records of work performed, and performing maintenance checks on the Hi-Lo. Reporting safety or mechanical issues to an Area Manager and filling out daily maintenance check-off lists are also required. Adherence to all safety regulations and daily scrap dumping are essential functions of this role.

Requirements

Must have a valid driver's license and operator's permit.

Prefer a high school diploma or the equivalent.

Responsibilities

Safely operate powered industrial lift truck.
Move materials in amounts to avoid personal injury, or damage to equipment, material, product, or the facility.
Move material to designed areas.
Unload and stack material.
Supply workers with materials as required, in a timely manner.
Load and unload steel trucks. May load and unload shipping trucks.
Interpret labels to ensure proper disposition of materials.
Weigh materials or products and record on tags or labels.
Refuel power supply as needed.
Responsible for assisting in die set-ups.
Train new or less experienced employees on the job.
Maintain proper records of the work performed.
Perform maintenance checks to make sure the Hi-Lo is in proper working condition.
Report any safety or mechanical problems with the Hi-Lo to an Area Manager.
Fill out daily Hi-Lo maintenance check off list.
Adhere to all safety regulations.
Dumps scrap daily.
Performs other essential functions as assigned.
