About The Position

The Hi-lo Driver supports MNP's distribution divisions by moving, tracking, and staging steel and work-in-process in accordance with production schedules. This role is a key member of the distribution team and must be able to work well with others yet work without constant supervision. Successful hi-lo drivers are detail-oriented and work in a proactive mode - anticipating the needs of the team they support.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience driving a hi-lo
  • Previous hi-lo certification required
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Possesses basic computer skills
  • Possesses basic mathematical skills
  • Able to read job instructions and keep detailed records
  • Able to work without constant supervision
  • Able to work well with others
  • Able to think ahead and plan material moves to maximize efficiency
  • Able to pass a pre-employment, post-offer physical, drug screen
  • Able to pass a background check

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer 1 year of hi-lo experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with the team including production control
  • Locate and move steel coils to the appropriate operation
  • Locate and move manufactured parts to next operation
  • Stage tubs for manufacturing ensuring empty tubs are available as needed
  • Assist other hi-lo drivers with expedited orders as needed
  • Scan tags and enter information into computer as required
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas; clean up spilled parts
  • Report missing paperwork or documents
  • Work in a safe manner; follow all safety protocols
  • Other duties as needed
