Our firm focuses on the operations and maintenance of transportation and public works infrastructure assets, employing professional engineers, certified quality control inspectors, and experienced maintenance technicians. We are seeking a full-time Herbicide Technician to perform highway maintenance operations in Huntsville, TX. This role involves various tasks related to highway maintenance cleanup while adhering to all applicable regulations and company policies. The position reports to the office in Huntsville, TX.
Requirements
- Valid Texas Driver's License
- Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish
- Clean driving record
- Must pass criminal background check
- High School Diploma/GED
- Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
- Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
- Carry out simple arithmetic functions
- Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
- Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
- Ability to use smart phone and applications
- Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
Nice To Haves
- Roadway maintenance experience
- Herbicide experience
- MOT Certifications (traffic control)
- Operator experience with Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, ForkLift, Asphalt Roller, etc.
- Concrete forming/repair experience
- CDL A License a plus
Responsibilities
- Perform highway maintenance cleanup tasks.
- Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Follow Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.
- Work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions.
- Operate hand and power tools.
- Work special projects when needed and during weather events.
- Work snow and ice events.
