The University of Florida Herbarium (in the Florida Museum of Natural History) has a Federal Work Study (FWS) position available to work on processing dried museum specimens of vascular plants. Duties include handling fragile herbarium specimens, gluing and sewing specimens with archival methods for long-term preservation and study, organizing and filing, typing information from specimen labels into database fields, and imaging specimens with a fixed, mounted camera. Tasks require meticulous care and attention to detail.
