About The Position
The Hemodialysis Technician is an unlicensed health care provider who assists the Registered Nurse, within the technician’s scope of practice, in caring for patients undergoing hemodialysis treatment. The role includes maintaining and disinfecting dialysis equipment, ordering and stocking supplies needed for inpatient dialysis treatment, monitoring and cleaning the supply area, and performing other duties as assigned. This is a full-time position in the Renal Dialysis department at Olympia Fields Hospital in Olympia Fields, Illinois. The listed shift is variable, with hours of 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Requirements
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Hemodialysis Technician Certification or equivalent training.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- One year of hemodialysis experience preferred.
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Registered Nurse in caring for patients undergoing hemodialysis treatment within scope of practice.
- Maintain and disinfect dialysis equipment.
- Order and stock supplies necessary for inpatient dialysis treatment.
- Monitor and clean the supply area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
