Requirements
- Current, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse within AL.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Hemodialysis Staff RN in a healthcare setting.
- Active BLS CPR Certification (American Heart Association required).
- Strong clinical assessment skills.
- Strong IV insertion skills.
- Strong medication administration skills.
- Strong emergency response skills.
- Understanding of renal physiology, the causes and progression of kidney disease, and the principles of hemodialysis.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
- Integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening.
Nice To Haves
- Correctional healthcare experience preferred.
- Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) or other relevant certifications may be preferred.
- Previous experience working in a correctional facility, familiarity with security protocols and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care as a Hemodialysis Registered Nurse.
- Administer medications.
- Perform IV insertions.
- Respond to emergencies.
- Adhere to facility correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and confidential information.
- Uphold integrity and professionalism in accordance with a Code of Conduct.
