Able to utilize independent judgment in performing routine and complex laboratory tests for physician's use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease states. Must be able to perform laboratory tests alone or with minimum supervision, utilizing technical and non-technical skills required for the efficient operation of the hematology clinical laboratory. Practices clinical science in the specialty of hematology, hemostasis, urine and body fluids analysis. The technologist is responsible for a wide range of laboratory assays intended for the examination of these various biological specimens. Must be able to operate and maintain automated laboratory analyzers and other laboratory equipment based on departmental standard of operation. Must possess sufficient academic, technical and clinical skills and knowledge to evaluate, troubleshoot, research and resolve day-to-day problems that arise or special projects as assigned by the supervisor.
