About The Position
This is an ongoing coverage need for a full-time Hematology/Oncology position. The role involves inpatient, clinic, and call coverage at a Level II trauma center. The average clinic volume is 15 patients per day, with 2-3 daily admissions. The position also includes APP supervision. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics. The assignment is for a long-term permanent search, and the start date is as soon as credentialed. Credentialing takes approximately 60 days. The role is offered as an independent contractor (1099) position.
Requirements
- Active Pennsylvania licensure
- Board certification
- AHA
- Minimum 1-year Hematology/Oncology experience or equivalent
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
- Residency training program in internal medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
- Board certification in Medical Oncology or Hematology/Oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the AOA
- Active and unrestricted medical license in Pennsylvania

- Fellowship training in Medical Oncology or Hematology/Oncology (may be preferred depending on the position)
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of system disorders in adults and potentially children (depending on the position)
- Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, CT scans and blood tests
- Perform procedures to diagnose and treat digestive conditions (depending on the scope of practice)
- Develop and implement treatment plans
- Manage chronic digestive conditions and provide ongoing patient care
- Collaborate with other specialists when needed to ensure coordinated care
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records for all patients
- Stay current on the latest advancements in specialty through continuing education
