About The Position

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses for long-term contract opportunities on an inpatient Hematology/Oncology unit in Topeka, Kansas. This is a 21-bed unit caring for patients with hematologic and oncology diagnoses, inpatient chemotherapy needs, palliative and end-of-life care, tracheostomies, symptom management, and other complex medical conditions. Typical staffing ratios are 1:6, or 1:4 when active chemotherapy is infusing.

Requirements

• Active RN license
• BLS certification
• ADN or BSN
• Minimum 1 year of acute-care nursing experience

Nice To Haves

• Oncology or Hematology experience preferred
• Chemotherapy certification preferred
• Epic experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Caring for patients with hematologic and oncology diagnoses
• Administering inpatient chemotherapy
• Providing palliative and end-of-life care
• Managing patients with tracheostomies
• Symptom management
• Caring for patients with other complex medical conditions
• Floating to other Med/Surg inpatient units may be required
