About The Position

Terrestris is seeking a Hematology Physician or Oncology Physician to support the Veteran community in the Fresno, CA area. This position is open to all candidates, including Locum or Traveling professionals. The role primarily involves direct patient care (estimated 90% of the time) in critical/acute care settings, adhering to VA policies, and includes assessing, stabilizing, and determining the disposition of inpatients with emergent conditions, as well as non-direct patient care (estimated 5% of the time).

Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  • Board Certified /Board Eligible.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • If selected, candidates will need to complete credentialing and onboarding requirements consistent with VA medical staff processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with the VA is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care to patients in critical/acute care settings in conformance with VA policies.
  • Assess, stabilize, and determine the disposition of inpatients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services.
  • Run code teams and rapid response teams.
  • Discuss end-of-life preferences/advanced care planning.
  • Conduct consultations with sub-specialists.
  • Perform timely and proactive discharge planning.
  • Coordinate care with the primary care physician.
  • Ensure appropriate follow-up is arranged during discharge.
  • Provide perioperative care.
  • Perform Abscess incision and drainage.
  • Perform Removal of lines and tubes.
