About The Position

As a Hematology Laboratory Technician at IDEXX, you will perform laboratory testing that helps veterinarians diagnose and treat pets. Requirements

  • Experience examining clinical blood samples on a Sysmex or CellaVision analyzer.
  • Experience performing manual differentials.
  • High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience setting up, running, and reading lab tests.
  • Experience operating laboratory equipment (microscopes, pipetting and/or clinical diagnostic analyzers).
  • Positive attitude and energy to support colleagues.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Concentration on details and ability to work reliably and precisely.
  • Great sense of team spirit and responsibility.
  • Able to meet physical requirements: standing and sitting for extended periods, phone & computer use, extended reach, lifting up to 50lb, specific vision ability (close, color, depth perception, ability to adjust focus).
  • Awareness of potential exposure to biohazards, agents known to cause zoonotic diseases, and hazardous chemicals.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-, 3-, or 4-year degree in a Science-related field.
  • Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, CVT) experience.
  • Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT or MT) experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory testing using automated analyzers, microscopes, and other diagnostic tools to diagnose animal illnesses, injuries, and diseases.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests on blood, urine, fecal, or pet biopsy samples.
  • Set up and run lab tests, then read and release results according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
