About The Position

The University of Louisiana Monroe is seeking a Helper to support campus operations. The role assists with receiving, inspecting, organizing, issuing, and delivering warehouse inventory and supplies. It also involves maintaining warehouse cleanliness and safety, supporting inventory activities, and assisting with surplus property.

Requirements

No experience or training is required.

Responsibilities

Receive vendor deliveries and verify shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and receiving documentation.
Safely unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, or other material-handling equipment.
Inspect incoming shipments for shortages, damage, or discrepancies and report issues to the supervisor.
Organize, label, stock, and rotate inventory in designated warehouse locations.
Pull and stage departmental orders for pickup or delivery.
Help employees and departments locate and obtain warehouse supplies.
Complete requisitions and inventory documentation for items issued to departments.
Maintain accurate inventory records and notify the supervisor when stock is low or items need to be reordered.
Assist with periodic physical inventory counts and inventory reconciliation.
Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free of safety hazards; sweep floors, dust shelving, remove trash, and perform general housekeeping.
Stack and store materials safely to maximize warehouse space.
Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment in accordance with safety procedures.
Load university vehicles for deliveries as needed.
Deliver materials, furniture, equipment, and supplies to campus departments when assigned.
Organize, store, move, and prepare surplus property for transfer or disposal.
Follow OSHA and institutional safety policies and report damaged equipment, safety hazards, and maintenance needs to the supervisor.
