About The Position
As a Helper -Start Up & Warranty at a Modigent operating company, you will support experienced refrigerant technicians and field teams on commercial refrigerant system installation, service, and retrofit projects. This entry-level role is ideal for motivated individuals looking to start a career in the trades. You will assist with material handling, basic preparation tasks, site organization, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment while learning the fundamentals of refrigerant systems under close supervision.
Requirements
- Limited to no prior refrigerant experience required — we will train the right candidate. Prior construction, labor, or mechanical experience is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, frequently bend, lift, stand, and walk on uneven terrain or in confined spaces, and safely climb ladders.
- Active construction and service job sites with exposure to varying conditions. This is a safety-sensitive position.
- Self-starter with high energy level and strong work ethic.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to good attendance.
- Willingness to learn and grow in the refrigerant trade.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and attention to safety.
Nice To Haves
- Prior construction, labor, or mechanical experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform general job site clean-up and organization to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Assist technicians with material handling, staging, and movement of piping, fittings, valves, and equipment.
- Support basic tasks such as measuring, cutting, and preparing tubing under direct supervision.
- Help with tool organization and equipment readiness.
- Assist with packaging, labeling, and preparation of materials as needed.
- Complete required paperwork and documentation as directed.
- Actively learn refrigerant system practices, safety protocols, and EPA handling basics.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies at all times.
