About The Position

The role of the Shop Helper will work in conjunction with multiple departments to complete tasks for our fabrication facility while also working on special projects, routine building, and grounds maintenance, as well as cross-training in other areas of the production departments. Duties and responsibilities of this position are performed under general supervision. While this form lists the primary job functions of the position, other duties may be assigned as necessary for the successful operation of the Company. Requirements

High school diploma or general education equivalent.
Ability to meet the physical and mental qualifications of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Availability to work standard hours and overtime as outlined in job offer, overtime may be short notice.
Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality when dealing with privileged information.
Works under general direction to perform tasks with clear written or oral direction.
Performs repetitive and routine tasks with some additional tasks as part of everyday work.
Maintains a positive attitude to adapt to a changing schedule.
Adheres to a provided work schedule to meet a set of qualitative production standards.
Communicates information to other associates and departments.

Responsibilities

Assist in the upkeep of the preventative maintenance schedule for equipment & machinery.
Help associates in multiple departments in ensuring the production floors and work areas have met cleanliness standards of the company.
Assists on special maintenance and department projects as needed.
Assists in loading and unloading products from production equipment.
Assists with building maintenance on both the Welarco and PHIL properties per assigned work orders when needed.
Assists with grounds maintenance as part of a routine schedule and per work order, e.g., landscaping.
Willing to clean and remove dirt and debris from production machines (this process ensures machines are operable and functioning properly).
Maintain and assist in cleanliness and organization of the building.
Trains and works with the assistance of other staff on maintenance items where two people are required.
Completes material handling functions as needed and in a safe manner, e.g., bringing materials into the building, operating a fork truck.
Completes daily pickup of area and remains responsible for cleanliness of work area.
Adheres to all safety protocols including always wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Assists other PHIL and Welarco personnel as requested.
Remains willing and able to cross-train and float into other positions of the Production Department as requested.
