About The Position

Cherokee Millwright is a multi-craft company that focuses on the needs of its customers by providing multi-trades personnel to meet unique job requests. Field employees will be cross-trained in various trades such as millwrighting, pipefitting, welding, sheet metal, and civil work. The focus of this position will be to assist all employees by performing various tasks such as cleaning work areas, unloading materials, preparing jobsites, retrieving tools, and cleaning debris. This role will also involve additional skills in other crafts as necessary to meet customer needs.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED required.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Regularly required to stand.
Frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Construction or manufacturing experience is highly desired.

Responsibilities

Perform general labor tasks such as job site preparation and clean-up.
Assist with material loading, unloading, gathering, and distributing.
Assist with installations, laying out tools, and performing other basic tasks.
Follow general laboring directions from site leaders and foremen.
Assist craft workers with their duties by performing basic needs.
Develop and utilize additional skills in other crafts as necessary to meet customer needs.
