About The Position

DeVine is a leading provider of Technical and Scientific solutions for Federal, State, and commercial clients. Our company is looking for a Help Desk Specialist to join our team in Stennis Space Center, in Mississippi. Current Secret Clearance is required. Due to the nature of our client base, only U.S. Citizens may be considered for hire. The Help Desk Specialist will join DeVine, and collaborate with our government customer. If you have the relevant experience & attributes, and would enjoy working onsite in MS, then we want you on our team!

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience working with various computer system concepts, configurations, analysis, operating procedures, and device interconnections, and knowledge of Information Technology hardware (servers, PCs, disk subsystems, plotters, scanners, etc.)
  • 2+ years of experience working with various software (Unix and Windows Operating Systems and COTS applications)
  • 2+ years of experience working with various telecommunication equipment (modems, LAN equipment, etc.), and services (hardware and software maintenance)
  • Current CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent)
  • Current Secret Clearance
  • Must be U.S. Citizen

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
  • Top Secret preferred

Responsibilities

  • Answer and remediating trouble calls during business hours
  • Answer all Tier 1 calls, create and remediate Tier 1 tickets
  • Escalate issues to Tier 2 as appropriate and remediate all Tier 2 escalations
  • Troubleshoot all of the above systems on a continuous basis, either through direct interaction or remote connection
  • Troubleshoot physical devices (laptops, printers, peripherals) and software applications (OS, MS Office, and internal business tools)
  • Help users connect to Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and VPNs
  • Process password resets and unlock user accounts
  • Set up new employee profiles, assign basic permissions, and manage software licenses
  • Develop guides and instructions for participants on the IT resources available during their residency, and how to connect their personal laptops, smartphones, etc. to wireless networks
  • Distribute contract reports, scripts, plots, scans, and other output media to the end-user
  • Assist in the implementation of new monitoring procedures and new technologies
