Helmet Production Manager

About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Helmet Production Manager to lead our custom helmet assembly operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the production process from start to finish, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency across all stages. This role plays a vital part in delivering high-performance protective gear to athletes while maintaining strict compliance with safety standards and industry regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in production management, preferably within sporting goods or protective equipment manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of helmet manufacturing techniques (e.g., in-mold construction, polycarbonate shell fabrication, foam molding).
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with production software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies is a plus.
  • Passion for sports and athlete safety.
  • Experience working with high-impact safety standards and materials (e.g., EPS foam, MIPS, carbon fiber).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise all helmet production activities, including molding, assembly, painting, and quality testing.
  • Lead, train, and motivate a team of production staff, technicians, and line supervisors to meet output goals and quality standards.
  • Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to ensure all products meet safety regulations (e.g., NOCSAE& SEI) and brand specifications.
  • Monitor raw material levels, manage supply chain relationships, and coordinate with procurement to maintain adequate stock.
  • Ensure the production floor complies with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules to meet forecasted demand and product launch timelines.
  • Work closely with R&D, Design, and Engineering teams to transition new helmet models from concept to production.
