Heavy Truck / Wrecker / Roadside Diesel Mechanic

MotocruitTown of Kirkland, NY
$38 - $45Hybrid

About The Position

This is not a basic shop mechanic position. It is a hybrid role designed to keep an experienced technician fully utilized across three lanes of work: heavy truck and wrecker maintenance, motorcoach repair support, and roadside service response. The right candidate can diagnose problems independently in the field, make sound repair decisions in the shop, and bounce between scheduled work and unpredictable calls without losing momentum. Late-day shop coverage, weekend coverage, and emergency roadside response availability are core to the role.

  • Hands-on experience as a diesel mechanic, fleet technician, road technician, or experienced wrecker operator.
  • Minimum 3 years of diesel engine repair experience.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass DOT physical and background screening.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude across diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and air brake systems.
  • Willingness to be on-call and respond to after-hours calls on a rotating basis.
