The Heavy Truck Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and construction hauling equipment, including dump trucks, ready-mix concrete trucks, lowboy trailers, flowboy trailers, and other fleet vehicles. This role performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and major repairs on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, brake systems, suspensions, drivetrains, electrical systems, and related components to ensure equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schemaics, and diagnositc reports.

Nice To Haves

• Vocational or technical training in diesel technology preferred.
• Experience maintaining and repairing heavy duty trucks, construction equipment, trailers, or commercial fleet vehicles preferred.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, air brakes, and heavy truck components.
• Experience with dump trucks, ready-mix trucks, lowboy trailers, flowboy trailers, and similar equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and schedules service on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and hauling equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and engine-related issues.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair dump trucks, ready-mix concrete trucks, lowboy trailers, flowboy trailers, and other fleet equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, suspensions, steering systems, and brake systems.
• Perform welding, fabrication, and component replacement as needed.
• Conduct DOT inspections and ensure vehicles meet all regulatory and company requirements.
• Utilize diagnostic software, testing equipment, and service manuals to identify equipment issues.
