We are currently seeking a dependable, safety-focused mechanic to join our team at our Valparaiso, IN, location.

Requirements

Proven background as a Heavy Diesel or Mixer Truck Mechanic within a similar industry
Possession of personal tools up to 1 inch.
A clean driving record is required; a CDL is preferred but not mandatory.
High school diploma is preferred; must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs frequently.
Ability to walk, climb, push, and pull to a significant degree in outdoor conditions and extreme temperatures.
Proficiency in failure analysis and the use of specialized shop equipment.

Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repair: Perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on mixer trucks, heavy construction equipment, and mobile units.
Diagnostics: Troubleshoot electrical systems, hydraulics, electronics, and mechanical defects.
Component Service: Remove and replace parts, including injection, starters, water pumps, radiators, and brakes.
Inspections: Conduct routine brake adjustments and inspections following Federal DOT requirements.
Documentation: Create accurate, legible work orders and document all services performed.
Coordination: Review pre-trip inspections with supervisors and communicate maintenance policies to drivers and plant managers.
Safety & Compliance: Adhere to OSHA and company safety rules, wearing all required PPE and maintaining a safe shop environment.
