About The Position

RBCI is seeking a Heavy Mobile Mechanic Technician to provide the Navy Medical Readiness Logistics Command (NMRLC) with the inspection, maintenance, repair, and servicing of a wide variety of mechanical equipment and systems used in support of operational and logistical functions. This work is onsite at the Williamsburg, VA office. 5%-10% travel may be required. This position is contingent upon contract award. (Military Veterans are highly encouraged to apply)

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a technician, performing inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment and vehicle systems.
  • 5.5.22.1.Required Skills and Certifications- A valid Commercial driver's license (A endorsement), standard transmission with trailer endorsement and ability to obtain certification to operate a 4-30k forklift.
  • certified ASE in the following or similar Medium-Heavy Truck, Military Tactical Wheeled Vehicle Series or other advanced level ASE Certifications. Certification to operate 4-30k forklifts.
  • Shall possess, or have the ability to obtain, certification to operate forklifts ranging from 4,000 to 30,000 lbs.
  • Shall hold ASE certification in Medium‑Heavy Truck, Military Tactical Wheeled Vehicle Series, or other advanced‑level ASE certifications relevant to equipment and vehicle maintenance.
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining and repairing engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and related mechanical systems on medium‑ and heavy‑duty vehicles.
  • Proficiency in the use of diagnostic tools, technical manuals, and repair procedures to identify and correct mechanical deficiencies.
  • Ability to maintain accurate maintenance documentation and comply with safety and operational standards.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a maintenance team.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, maintain, service, and repair a wide variety of mechanical equipment and systems in support of operational and logistical functions.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, transmission, and engine‑related issues on medium‑ and heavy‑duty trucks, tactical wheeled vehicles, trailers, and material handling equipment using appropriate diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, and component replacement to ensure equipment reliability, safety, and operational readiness.
  • Operate commercial vehicles with trailers to transport equipment and vehicles as required in support of maintenance and mission operations.
  • Safely operate material handling equipment, including forklifts ranging from 4,000 to 30,000 lbs, to load, unload, move, and position equipment and components.
  • Utilize manufacturer manuals, technical documentation, and established repair procedures to perform maintenance in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance actions, repairs, and certifications in accordance with established maintenance and safety requirements.
  • Comply with all safety regulations, environmental requirements, and operational procedures while performing maintenance, repair, and transportation functions.
  • Work independently or as part of a maintenance team to support mission‑critical operational and logistical requirements.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
