About The Position
QSL is hiring a Lead Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic to support 24/7 cargo operations at the Port of New Orleans. The role provides technical leadership while maintaining and troubleshooting the heavy equipment used in terminal operations. The position is full-time and requires rotating availability for weekends and emergency callouts. The work environment is collaborative and safety-driven.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of heavy equipment maintenance experience.
- Strong diagnostic skills in diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Proficiency with CMMS systems; Maximo is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- TWIC card or ability to obtain one.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergencies.
Nice To Haves
- Leadership experience.
- Experience with Maximo.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy mobile equipment, including forklifts, cranes, and loaders.
- Schedule and track maintenance tasks using the CMMS Maximo.
- Manage vendors and parts procurement as needed.
- Ensure safety and ISO/HSSE compliance in all activities.
- Mentor and support maintenance team members.
