About The Position

This role is responsible for safely and efficiently supporting mill operations by maintaining and repairing mobile equipment to ensure equipment reliability and availability.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years diesel mechanic experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years vehicle or mobile equipment repair experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years troubleshooting and repair experience with mobile equipment hydraulic systems.
  • Minimum of 3 years troubleshooting and repair experience with mobile equipment electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of the electrical and mechanical components, systems, and accessories used on heavy mobile equipment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and motivate others.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with a hands-on approach and ability to lead by example.
  • Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call situations as needed.
  • Ability to move freely throughout the facility, including climbing stairs and ladders, and navigating around equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and crouch as necessary to inspect and maintain equipment.
  • Capability to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks that involve lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying heavy objects.
  • Endurance to stand and walk for extended periods, often in environments with dust, chemicals, high noise levels, and varying temperatures.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 or more years of industrial manufacturing experience preferred, with composite panel manufacturing experience considered a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair all mobile equipment to support safe and reliable operations.
  • Assist in developing and improving preventive maintenance (PM) programs for mobile equipment.
  • Serve as a maintenance resource during down days and shutdown activities.
  • Partner with operators to identify and resolve equipment issues through daily communication, logbook reviews, SAP work orders, and email correspondence.
  • Manage and prioritize the mobile equipment SAP work order backlog.
  • Coordinate with planners to schedule mobile equipment repairs efficiently and effectively.
  • Work closely with operators and other maintenance crafts to improve equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Review action logs daily and collaborate with planners to resolve outstanding issues.
  • Investigate equipment failures, determine root causes, and recommend long-term corrective actions.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining area resources, including manuals, prints, job plans, tools, and spare parts inventories.
  • Create and enter follow-up work requests as needed.
  • Complete assigned work orders, preventive maintenance (PM), and predictive maintenance (PdM) activities according to established priorities.
  • Participate in department and area improvement projects.
  • Complete safety-related work orders in a timely manner based on priority.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop, office, and work environment.
  • Remain aware of personnel working in the area and contribute to a safe work environment.
  • Support Arauco's commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability.
  • Complete LASER reports for upset conditions and procedural concerns.
  • Perform housekeeping activities regularly and during downtime.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to the site's safety programs.
  • Report all incidents, injuries, and near misses promptly.
  • Understand the location and proper use of fire protection equipment.
