About The Position

Leads a team of Material Coordinators in supporting heavy maintenance events and ensures delivery of work completion, vendor performance, and cost reduction objectives are achieved. This role involves ensuring required materials and services are obtained and delivered on schedule and at the lowest total cost. The coordinator communicates with MRO and Republic On site reps regarding material requests and expected delivery dates, and works with the maintenance team on material concerns to provide options for meeting delivery expectations. They attend pre-planning meetings with the Maintenance Strategic Planning team to plan heavy maintenance events two weeks prior to induction. The position ensures requirements are communicated, understood, and executed throughout the Supply Chain organization, including Material Planning, Purchasing, Repair & Warranty, and Material Services, to guarantee sources of supply. Key responsibilities include confirming stock accuracy and core returns across heavy check locations, continuously improving processes and flow within the heavy check value stream, and monitoring and validating requests based on MPD, Illustrated Parts Catalog, and non-routine requirements. The role also involves coordinating with the MRO provider to manage the source of supply, documenting self-supplied vs. MRO-provided parts based on lowest total cost and contractual terms, and collaborating with Maintenance to improve internal heavy check operations (cost, service levels, efficiency). The coordinator monitors monthly and quarterly service levels and the operational performance matrix, works with heavy check management to evaluate and establish processes to enhance operations, receives all material into the computer system, monitors inventory for accuracy, and issues materials for aircraft during heavy maintenance events. They ensure all unserviceable inventory is returned and expedited for repair vendors, foster the Company’s core values and culture, provide technical leadership, lead by example, monitor, influence, and train others, and provide input to supervisors on operational efficiencies. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Requires at least 2 years of experience as a heavy maintenance check coordinator, material planning or equivalent experience.
  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret technical information such as manufacturer’s manuals, parts manuals and technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from internal customers, vendors and management.
  • Able to effectively present information to vendors and management.
  • Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Makes decisions daily on use of resources. Decisions could require additional expenditure of resources if not sound decisions.
  • Able to move about the work environment.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear.
  • Able to work on call 24/7.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. /B.S.) or equivalent in aviation, supply chain or related field.
  • Prefer airline experience.

  • Collaborates with Maintenance to continuously improve internal heavy check operations, including cost, service levels, and efficiency initiatives.
  • Monitors monthly and quarterly service levels and the operational performance matrix.
  • Works directly with heavy check management to evaluate current processes and to establish additional ones to enhance the operation.
  • Receives in all material into computer system, monitor inventory for accuracy and issues for aircraft during heavy maintenance event.
  • Ensures all unserviceable inventory is returned and expedited for repair vendor.
  • Fosters the Company’s core values and culture throughout the work environment.
  • Provides technical leadership to team and department members. Leads through example; monitors, influences and trains others.
  • Provides input to supervisor on opportunities for operational efficiencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
