About The Position

This is a full-time seasonal position for a Heavy Labor Harvester working in onion fields. The employee will be a member of an onion harvest crew, performing tasks under the direction of a foreperson or supervisor. Responsibilities include harvesting onions according to size and quality specifications, trimming roots and stalks, and placing bulbs in designated buckets. The role also involves hauling full buckets (25-35 lbs each) to a bin area, dumping them, and returning to harvesting. Field clean-up, including picking up trash, weeds, and debris, is also a key duty. Employees are expected to maintain reliable attendance, sharpen their own tools, work safely, and get along with supervision.

Requirements

  • Ability to stand, sit, crouch, bend, reach, lift, and carry items weighing up to 66 pounds.
  • Ability to listen to, understand, and follow instructions from supervisors.
  • Ability to assist in maintaining work areas and Company property in a neat and clean condition.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
  • Must come prepared with appropriate clean clothing and footwear for environmental and working conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Harvest onions, meeting supervisor specifications for size and quality.
  • Trim roots and stalks off onion bulbs.
  • Place trimmed onion bulbs into designated buckets.
  • Haul full harvest buckets (25-35 lbs) to a bin area.
  • Dump bucket contents into a bin.
  • Clean-up fields by picking up trash, weeds, and debris before, during, and after harvest.
  • Provide regular, reliable, predictable attendance.
  • Sharpen scissors/shears using provided materials.
  • Work in a safe manner to prevent injury.
  • Respect and get along with supervision.
