Heavy Haul Truck Driver at Irby Construction Company shall possess the ability to operate/drive any truck, including tractor trailers in order to support all assigned work activity. Employee must have one (3) years experience of over-the-road driving, with heavy haul and oversized load experience. Prior expeience operating a lowboy, Must possess a valid commercial driver’s license, class “A”. THIS JOB WILL BE LOCATED IN EATONTON, GA.

Requirements

  • Lowboy experience is required
  • At least (3) years of over-the-road driving required.
  • Lifting and handling materials up to 60 pounds unassisted.
  • Walking and working across uneven terrain.
  • Exposure to hot and cold weather conditions
  • Climbing on and off large trucks and equipment.
  • Must possess a valid commercial driver’s license, class “A”.

Responsibilities

  • Drives truck to and from destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations.
  • Maintains Hours of Service driver logs according to DOT regulations.
  • Will be required to load and unload truck.
  • Will position and haul equipment such as bulldozers, bucket trucks, track equipment, conductor pullers, five drum machines, conductor reels, and/or cranes at the work location.
  • Inspect truck equipment and supplies daily before each trip to ensure the proper operation and condition of the vehicle and load.
  • Position and secure loads for transit using proper load securement as regulated by the DOT.
  • May transport over-sized and/or over-weight loads using proper escorts, signs, lights, flags and permits according to state and/or federal regulations.
  • Able to perform daily walk arounds, routine and periodic checks, inspections, and the maintenance of equipment.
  • Capable of loading and unloading equipment and materials.
  • Adheres to all Company Safety and Health Policies while in the course of conducting Company business.
  • Is required to maintain a current Medical Certification Card.
