About The Position
Waste Connections is looking for a Heavy Equipment/Yellow Iron Mechanic to join the team at our location in St Cloud, FL. This role involves performing repairs and preventive maintenance on various heavy equipment. The work environment involves extensive physical activity and potential exposure to hazards, requiring adherence to safety precautions. The company emphasizes stability and year-round work.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate service and technical information.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience directly related to diesel and yellow iron experience.
- Ability to efficiently operate bulldozers, wheel loaders, motor grader, scraper.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment is desired.
Nice To Haves
- Compactor experience preferred.
- CDL is preferred but not required at time of hire.
Responsibilities
- Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.
- Performs inspections, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
- Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
- Operates heavy equipment such as bulldozers, wheel loaders, motor grader, and scrapers.
