About The Position

We are looking for a Heavy Equipment/Yellow Iron Mechanic to join the team at our SLD Team location in Punta Gorda, FL. The role involves performing repairs and preventive maintenance on various heavy equipment, including compactors, dozers, excavators, motor graders, water trucks, and articulated dump trucks. The position requires the ability to diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, and brake systems. The ideal candidate will have computer skills and maintain a clean, safe work area. Experience operating heavy equipment is desired, and compactor experience is preferred.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate service and technical information.
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified (both diesel and yellow iron experience).
Must have computer skills.

Nice To Haves

Compactor experience preferred but not required.
Ability to operate heavy equipment is desired.
CDL is preferred but not required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.
Performs inspections, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
Ability to efficiently operate bulldozers, wheel loaders, motor grader.
Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
