Summary: Heavy Equipment Truck Mechanic will have previous working knowledge of hydraulic systems, electronic controls, electrical circuitry, schematics, and a basic knowledge of diesel engine repair.
Requirements
- Must be minimum of 18 years of age
- Open availability (24/7/365) available to work nights, weekends, and holidays that fall on your rotation.
- Willingness to work in varying weather conditions
- Valid Driver’s License
- Experience with maintaining heavy equipment in either the Construction, Transportation, or Intermodal Industry
- Driver's License (Required)
- Diesel Mechanic Certification (Required)
Nice To Haves
- Mi-Jack or Taylor Manufacture Brand experience a plus.
Responsibilities
- Follow a checklist of inspection procedures
- Test drive vehicles to diagnose malfunctions (NO CDL REQUIRED)
- Read and interpret diagnostic test results from diagnostic equipment such as Cummings Insite
- Raise trucks, and heavy parts or equipment by using hydraulic jacks or hoists
- Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, engines, and other parts of vehicles
- Do routine maintenance, such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and parts
- Adjust and align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and attach system components
- Repair or replace malfunctioning components, parts, and other mechanical or electrical equipment.
- Documents the repair according to an established reporting system, verbally and in writing
- Performs light welding when required
- Other duties as assign
- Documented successful completion of lawful post-offer, pre-employment checks including criminal background check and drug screening.
