About The Position

EquipmentShare is seeking a Heavy Equipment District Field Technician (Mechanic) to support its rental facilities in Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin. This role involves traveling to provide maintenance and repair for customer and company-owned heavy equipment machinery and aerial lifts. The technician will work with the newest fleet in the industry and will have the opportunity to grow with the company. A sign-on bonus of up to $2,000 may be offered based on experience. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime pay after 40 hours. This role is also subject to on-call scheduling with additional compensation. The salary range is $19.50-$42 per hour, with the final compensation rate influenced by factors such as past experience and location.

Requirements

Must own tools applicable to position.
Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams.
Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
High School diploma, Trade school certificate preferred.
Experience in field service, maintenance and repair preferred.
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle.
Must be able to move, stand, stoop and bend freely.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Field Technicians may be required to be clean shaven in order to enter worksites for EquipmentShare customers who have this requirement.
This is a safety sensitive position and any offer of employment will be contingent on passing a 10 panel drug screen.
Employment is contingent on passing a background check.

Responsibilities

Perform complex machine diagnosis and major component removal and replacement.
Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of customer and company-owned rental equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on a variety of equipment.
Assist with the pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts, including safely loading and unloading while complying with DOT regulations for height, width, and weight.
Attend all Safety Meetings and consistently practice safe job practices for equipment repair.
Maintain accurate and timely electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) daily.
Fill in at times during leadership gaps within store service areas.
Drive and travel up to 90% of the work week throughout the assigned district and region.
Stay overnight for short and long periods of time.
