Heavy Equipment Technician (Bobcat of the Peace)
About The Position
Bobcat of the Peace, a division of Rentco Equipment Ltd., is a fast-paced local company with over 60 years of dedicated service to Grande Prairie and the Peace Country. As a leading dealership, we specialize in Bobcat, Develon Heavy Equipment, Bobcat forklifts, Precision Trailers, and Grasshopper products. Our robust sales and service teams, coupled with a comprehensive parts inventory, ensure exceptional support for our valued customers. We are currently looking for a full-time Heavy Equipment Technician (2ndd-4th year apprentice or Journeyman) to join our Service team.
Requirements
- Journeyman/Journeyperson Heavy Duty Technician, or a registered 2nd- 4th year HET apprentice with your own tools. A Journeyman/Journeyperson Automotive Technician with heavy equipment experience may be considered.
- Class 5 drivers’ licence with a clean abstract and the ability to go on service calls when required
- Experience working on bobcats, loaders, generators, man-lifts, etc.
- Knowledge of power, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to be flexible and to work well under pressure
Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting and completing diagnostic repairs
- Completing the installation of new and added on equipment
- Cleaning, lubricating, and other maintenance work
- Ordering replacement equipment, parts, and supplies
- Maintaining a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques
- Traveling to customer locations to diagnose, service, and repair equipment
