About The Position
SMS Equipment is currently recruiting Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technicians to join our growing Timmins branch. In this role, you will apply your technical expertise to inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain off-road heavy equipment, helping ensure safe and reliable operations for our customers. Requirements
- Certified Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician
- Experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and willingness to travel as required
- The ability to use a variety of diagnostic tools and approaches to troubleshoot issues
Nice To Haves
- Komatsu experience
- Interprovincial Red Seal certification
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems on heavy equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance, component overhauls, and new equipment builds
- Use both digital diagnostic tools and hands-on troubleshooting techniques
- Work independently or collaboratively in field and shop environments
- Follow established safety procedures and actively contribute to a culture of safety
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Adapt to a variety of working conditions, including remote sites and changing environments
