In this role, you will be the primary architect of fleet reliability and operational uptime, ensuring our heavy-duty assets are meticulously maintained and rapidly restored to service.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems; familiarity with Alberta Transportation CVIP requirements and OHS safety standards.
  • Proficiency with modern diagnostic tools and schematics; advanced mechanical repair across mixed fleets; welding and fabrication (MIG, TIG, Stick) is a major asset.
  • Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician certification
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in varying outdoor weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues across a diverse fleet, including skid steers, loaders, tandem trucks, and plow trucks.
  • Execute high-standard maintenance programs that optimize performance, extend equipment life, and proactively minimize operational downtime.
  • Act as the frontline solution-provider for on-site breakdowns, performing critical repairs in the field to keep projects flowing, especially during high-demand snow and ice events.
  • Utilize welding and fabrication skills to reinforce equipment and perform structural repairs, adding a layer of durability to our specialized assets.
  • Uphold strict Alberta OHS regulations and lockout/tagout procedures, ensuring every repair is documented accurately and every work area remains hazard-free.
