About The Position
WM is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic II for a stable role with benefits that provide financial security. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic II at WM, you will be responsible for the service and repair of heavy equipment like bulldozers, scrapers & front end loaders, which are vital to the company's operations. The work environment includes rigorous cleaning schedules to protect employees. This role operates in both inside garage, shop or gas plant conditions as well as in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity.
Requirements
- 1 year of maintenance mechanic experience on heavy equipment
- A valid driver’s license, with a clean driving record
- Be over 18 years of age.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities
- Repair equipment including, but not limited to, bulldozers, scrapers, backhoes, front end loaders, yard trucks, farm tractors, forklifts, and company cars.
- Diagnose and repair differentials, hydraulic systems, motors, transmissions, drives, air conditioning systems, and electrical systems.
- Preventative maintenance as set out by the site checklist.
- Paperwork and admin tasks such as work orders, card files, P.M. checklists, and oil samples.
- Service and maintains other equipment such as light plants, water pump, welders, and other equipment.
